VR Lenses

Below are some common questions about our VR Lenses

What types of VR lenses do we offer?

The VR lenses we offer include:

  • Single Vision VR Lenses: Ideal for those with a single vision prescription for distance viewing in VR.
  • Progressive Lenses for AR: Designed for users with progressive lenses to accommodate a range of vision needs in Augmented reality.
  • Custom Prescription Lenses for VR Headsets: Customized lenses to fit various VR headsets, tailored to individual prescriptions otherwise not typically stock/ provided inhouse.
What should I ask my eye doctor for my VR lenses?

Do not request a specific adjusted distance for VR during your eye exam.

  • Upload Prescriptions: Provide your normal distance prescription or regular progressive power with the highest ADD power. For example, if your computer progressive RX shows a lower ADD power (e.g., +1.25) compared to your normal progressive power (e.g., +2.50), upload the script with the higher ADD power.
  • Single Vision Prescriptions: If you prefer single vision prescriptions but have ADD power, you might end up with two single vision prescriptions. Upload photos of both prescriptions so we can accurately process them.
Can I use my regular eyeglass prescription for VR lenses?

Yes you can use your regular eyeglass (spectacle) prescription. This does not include prescriptions specifically made for contact lenses. Reloptix will optimize your prescription to benefit the exact focal distance plane per headset. Distance is typically used for VR scenarios.

How do I know if my VR headset is compatible with prescription lenses?

Reloptix offers a wide range of lenses compatible with various VR headset manufacturers. To ensure compatibility, refer to the manufacturer's specifications or the VR headset's user manual. Most modern VR headsets are designed to accommodate prescription lenses, but it's always a good idea to verify compatibility with the manufacturer. If there is a device you would like to have lens inserts designed for not offered already, please reach out to design@reloptix.net.
